Where to check and book official trains
Use the official Uzbekistan railway e-ticket platform to search your origin, destination and date. The older official address at eticket.railway.uz redirected to this platform during our source check. Start from the official railway website if you are uncertain about a link, and inspect the address before entering personal or payment details.
The operator also provides a schedule reference. A service shown in a general timetable does not establish that seats are available for your party. Conversely, an empty date search needs checking: it should not automatically be interpreted as a canceled route.
What Afrosiyob means for your itinerary
Afrosiyob is a high-speed train service, not a label for every train in Uzbekistan. Check the exact service, carriage class and station on the ticket. Do not assume a conventional train has the same duration or facilities simply because it connects the same cities.
For initial route comparison, allow roughly 2–3 hours for Tashkent–Samarkand, 1½–2½ hours for Samarkand–Bukhara and 4–5 hours for Bukhara–Tashkent on suitable high-speed services. These are rounded planning allowances informed by published railway journey examples, not current departures. Replace them with the actual journey duration before confirming a tour.
A careful booking sequence
- Search the exact date and stations. Check the full station names rather than assuming the city has only one possible departure point.
- Compare the whole journey. Review departure and arrival times, duration, class, seats and what is included.
- Enter passenger details accurately. Use the passport you will travel with and check names and document numbers before payment.
- Read the fare conditions. Confirm the displayed price, any commission, change or refund rules and accepted payment methods in the current checkout.
- Verify issuance. Save the issued ticket and check passenger, date, station, carriage and seat details. A payment notification alone is not the ticket.
The operator’s official booking instructions specifically require non-resident passengers’ ticket details to match the passport used for travel. Some help-page fee and payment examples are dated; use the current booking terms for the transaction rather than treating those older examples as a live price list.
On the day: plan the station part, too
Have your passport and ticket accessible, with an offline copy and a printout if the current ticket instructions require one. As a practical planning buffer, aim to reach the station about 45–60 minutes before departure unless the operator specifies otherwise; allow more for mobility assistance or an unfamiliar station. This is our recommendation, not a universal operator check-in rule.
Agree the exact pickup time and station with your driver. Arrival in “Bukhara,” for example, should be followed by a confirmed transfer to your actual hotel—not an assumption that the station and old town are the same place. Keep essentials in a small bag and make sure your luggage can be managed through the station. Request assistance in advance.
If your preferred train is unavailable
- Check a different departure time or reverse the route if flights and hotels permit.
- Compare a conventional train, allowing for its actual duration and arrival time.
- Ask about a private road transfer and use a fresh estimate for the vehicle and route.
- Remove an optional stop instead of relying on an unrealistically tight connection.

For flights, consult the actual carrier, such as Uzbekistan Airways, rather than reusing an old timetable. Build an overnight buffer before an important international departure where practical.
