Seven Lakes and Sarazm from Samarkand

The Seven Lakes & Sarazm Day Trip combines the archaeological site of Sarazm with lake scenery in the Fann Mountains. Short walks around the lakes make this a scenic excursion rather than a formal trekking program.

Samarkand pickup: travel to the Uzbek–Tajik border with arranged transport.
Border crossing: the published plan has travelers cross on foot and meet the Tajik driver and guide on the other side.
Sarazm and the lakes: continue toward Penjikent, visit Sarazm and explore the mountain-lake route agreed for the day.
Return: cross back and transfer to your Samarkand hotel.

How long should your visit be?

The published excursion lasts one day and includes no overnight accommodation. It is an addition to time in Samarkand. For slower lakeside time, longer walks or a wider Tajikistan journey, request a separate custom proposal. The Pamir region is a different, longer-distance journey and is not part of this day trip.
